VA is looking for the best and brightest in the medical field to join its ranks and provide cutting-edge health care to more than 8 million Veteran Health Administration enrollees. In its newest attempt at attracting talented medical professionals VA Careers is launching the “No Other System” campaign.

The “No Other System” video shows VHA physicians, nurses and other professionals working in a variety of fields that contribute to the overall health care needs of Veterans. Incentives, like transferring licenses from state to state and accessing advanced technology, are highlighted throughout the commercial for medical professionals looking to take their careers to a “new level of excellence.”

“Our Veterans Need Us” is another public service announcements featured by VA Careers. “Serve those who served our nation,” according to one VA physician featured in the PSA, with a wide range of positions available to applicants.

Currently, VA’s health system manages 773,600 inpatient visits and more than 60 million outpatient visits a year at more than 1,400 care sites. If you would like more information on joining the VA health care team, visit vacareers.va.gov

I am a CMA. I live near the VA in Palo Alto, CA and I am very interested in any openings that you may have available. I am looking for a long term, full time career/job. Please send me information if there is a position open in the area that I am qualified. Thank you.

I have been trying to get a job in the VA network. I just recently finished schooling for Medical Administration/Insurance. I also completed schooling for Medical Assisting and was an Army Medic for 6 years. I have been out of work for over 2 years and need to find employment ASAP.

The system does not work. If you don’t have inside connections-you just don’t get considered for a job. After 6 years of submitting applications-I have completely lost confidence. And I have a PhD with three masters (-to include a Masters in Nursing and certifications X2). Its a Sad-sad- situation. I see the advertisements that Career Professionals are needed–but I get by-passed every time.

Unusual.. I applied for a VA Ophthalmic Technician position and did not even get an interview. This is after spending 18/20 years in the Army as an eye technician w/ the last 4 years as the lead instructor the US Army Eye Specialist Course.

This was in San Antonio by the way.
