Most organizations would agree that working together to synchronize both public and private efforts is essential to supporting our returning Servicemembers, Veterans and their families – especially during periods of hardship or transition.
Over the past several years, we’ve made a concerted, strategic effort to increase communication, awareness and access to our VA program office staff in an effort to connect with national, regional and local non-governmental organization (NGO) programs. This effort has helped strengthen and expand interactions between VA and the NGO community, and create a better environment to share information, discuss opportunities and align efforts.
As a result, we’re all better equipped to meet the large-scale and complex challenges which need cross-sector solutions and collaboration.
But we can always do more. To advance VA’s mission for more awareness and access, VA is hosting a services showcase on Wednesday, Jan. 29 in Crystal City, Va.
This event is an opportunity for representatives from NGOs – charities, foundations, non-profits, private sector organizations, Veteran Service Organizations and others – who serve Veterans, their families, caregivers, survivors and other beneficiaries to learn more about VA’s programs, services and support.
We will assemble more than 33 VA program offices and 50 subject matter experts, representing the full spectrum of VA services. This is a great opportunity for the private sector to engage in one-on-one discussions about our programs, services and support activities.
During the event we’ll also conduct short presentations on topics such as claims submission, education, employment, homelessness, outreach, mental health and suicide prevention, My HealtheVet and Blue Button and Wounded Warrior Care.
We invite you to visit our website for more information on the VA Services Showcase and how to register: www.va.gov/p3.
Together, as better informed and connected national and community leaders and service providers, we can ensure that our Veterans, families and other beneficiaries have access to the care and benefits they have so honorably earned and deserve.
Thank you for your support of the VA mission and your dedication to serving our nation’s Veterans.
