JD PowerFor the fifth consecutive year, VA’s Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy  scored the highest in overall satisfaction in the J.D. Power National Pharmacy Study, Mail-Order segment.

The study, conducted annually, measures satisfaction among consumers who filled a mail-order prescription within the last 90 days.

“VA’s first-class pharmacy services are an important component of the exceptional health care available to our Veterans,” said Dr. Carolyn Clancy, Interim Under Secretary for Health. “We are proud to learn from our Veterans through this study that VA is delivering on that commitment.”

Customer satisfaction with Mail-Order Pharmacy is measured across four key factors: cost competitiveness, prescription delivery, prescription ordering, and customer service.

VA also led the mail-order pharmacy industry nationwide in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. VA participates in this annual survey as a way to compare itself against industry leaders and to ensure VA health care meets the highest standards.

With nearly 9 million Veterans enrolled, VA operates the largest integrated health care delivery system in the United States, with a mission to honor America’s Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. VA provides a broad range of primary care, specialized care, and related medical and case management services. More information is available at http://www.va.gov/health/.

While I am happy with most services of the VA and am aware that there are only a FEW who give bad names to the MANY. That said. At Dorn VA hosp. I have been getting meds there and they have been LATE all but one month. This is NOT because of the Pharmacy. The Doctor, My Doctor has failed to sign of on my renewal for my pain meds. All other meds I have received on time. Again, Pharmacy is not to blame, and I know this, but the Doctors should be held accountable. My meds have been as much as 9 days late. Not my Tylenol… My PAIN meds. This should not happen to ANY veteran!

after all these years of pushing pills off on the veterans instead of taking care of us, I get the feeling they are now worried about having made us addicted to some medications. I believe that may be the next thing that Congress and veterans themselves begin to take a look at. I myself will not take narcotic medications. I went through a time in my life where I took many street narcotics, in early April of this year I celebrated 20 years of being clean.!a few years ago they pulled 18 teeth out of my head! The doctor tried to give me darvon for the pain and I said no I will not take them! When I had major surgery, I refused their pain pills, instead I took the less addictive yet still effective medications. My brothers and sisters think about it, if they keep us doped up we don’t complain so much. Make them take care of us and let’s take care of ourselves!

You have got to be kidding me. The VA Pharmacy mail service is a joke. This study must not have included input from people that actually use the service.

I have had my meds (7) ordered through My healthvet for years. Like everything else I have encountered in my VA medical system experience it works great.

I have used the DA mail prescriptions service for about 8 years now. I think it is fantastic! They have never failed to give my prescriptions to me on time, have never messed up a prescription, and one of the greatest things about the VA pharmacy is that I have never had a problem getting in touch with a pharmacist to discuss any concerns about my medications. Just this morning I called regarding concerns about drug interactions spoke to a very professional and polite pharmacist who took the time to speak with me like I was actually a real person! Thank you for this service VA. I think the VA pharmacy department deserves this award!

I found that I could receive my prescriptions cheaper thru other mail order sources and even some prescriptions were cheaper at the chain store pharmacy.
