Veterans on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast took their annual cruise down memory lane in November when the Cruisin’ the Coast classic car troupe hosted its annual Salute to Veterans event at a brand new site. The event broke records again this year, with almost 8,000 classic cars and trucks on display.

The venue for this year’s Salute to Veterans was the new MGM Park in Biloxi. The vintage vehicles lined the baseball field’s warning track and foul lines. Near home plate, local sponsors provided a tent for shade, bottled water and free pizza for Veterans.

There was special entertainment for the Veterans, including another rousing performance by everybody’s favorite area Elvis Presley impersonator.

The VA Medical Center in Biloxi transported 150 Veterans to enjoy the event. Active duty military from the Navy Seabee base provided individual escorts for each Veteran in the baseball park.

Cruisin’ the Coast enjoyed another successful year along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and once again the Biloxi community showed its pride and gratitude for the service men and women of this country.
