Ever wanted to know what it’s like to ski at the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic? We’ll let Coast Guard Veteran Chris Devlin-Young show you.
Devlin-Young is a four-time Paralympic medalist, World Cup champion and 10-time U.S. national champion. His competitive resume boasts more than 160 career wins. While serving in Alaska with the Coast Guard in 1982, a plane crash left him paralyzed below the waist. Never one to give up, Devlin-Young was introduced to skiing and raced at the first Winter Sports Clinic. He hasn’t slowed down since.
Devlin-Young and three other Veteran athletes joined us before the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games to talk about VA’s Adaptive Sports program. You can watch that discussion here.
