Well, the last few days/weeks of a lot of peoples’ lives have probably been about forms, dreaded tax forms (how Veterans can get free tax prep). So, let’s see if VA can’t help some of our Veterans on a different front, getting rid of some forms.

Health-related inquiries are best dealt with in a timely manner. This is especially the case for our Veterans, who VA’s dedicated team of physicians, experienced nurses and pharmacists aim to serve through our innovative care. Now, due to advances in the speed in which Veterans become eligible for care, VA is in need of even more of those dedicated employees.

With several vital steps planned to simplify Veterans’ process of becoming eligible for health care and benefits, we’re proud to announce one of them: creating a more efficient application process.

Beginning in July of this year, all Veterans will be able to complete applications for VA health care enrollment over the phone. So – no more paper applications and no more mailbox drop-offs, which mean our heroes are able to get quicker access to medical attention. “This improvement to our Veterans’ experience is the right thing to do,” said VA Deputy Secretary Sloan D. Gibson. Along with this, VA is accelerating the applications of 31,000 combat Veterans who already have paper or online applications in the system.

What does that mean for you? With those 31,000 Veterans entering our health system, and those who are transitioning from active duty to Veteran status in the near future, we need to increase our ranks to ensure they are getting the best care possible. That means we need more physicians, nurses, mental health experts and other health care professionals to help us provide that quality care. If you want to be part of a team that brings out the best in each other through support, then a career at VHA is your calling. When you work with us, you’ll not only advance your career – you’ll also advance care for Veterans. Apply today.
