Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Russell Lambros. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II as an infantryman with the 2nd Armored Division. Russell participated in battles from North Africa to Europe, including the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was seriously wounded during the Battle of the Bulge and was evacuated from the theater.
After recovering from his injuries and being discharged he attended the University of Florida, becoming a Pharmacist for the next 30 years. His customers always affectionately referred to him as ‘Doc.’
Russell passed away in June 2015 at almost 98 years young.
We honor his service.
