Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Thor Young.

Thor joined the Army in 2002.

He served with 4th Infantry Division as a Combat Medic during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He provided care for wounded soldiers while under fire. His bravery and medical care was awarded with the Combat Medical Badge and an Army Commendation Medal.

Thor was honorably discharged in 2004 for medical reasons.

He currently lives in Fairfax, Virginia with his family and continues his civil service at the Department of Health as a Program Manager.

Thank you for your service, Thor!

YOU HAVE HAD ALMOST A WEEK TO POST MY MESSAGE WHICH PROVES THAT THE VA ONLY WANTS TO HEAR LIES AND TELL LIES. BUT, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE FINALLY WISING UP AND KNOWING THE TRUTH DUE TO SO MANY VETERANS PAGES ON FACEBOOK. YOU WON’T GET AWAY WITH ALL YOUR LIES MUCH LONGER. THE NEWEST AND LAST SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS IS GOING TO BE FIRED BECAUSE HE WAS JUST AS INEPT AS THE PREVIOUS ONE. TO MY FELLOW AMERICANS ………………. DON’T BELIEVE ALL THE LIES FROM THE VA ABOUT HOW GOOD THEY TREAT OUR VETERANS; I KNOW BECAUSE I AM A 100% DISABLED VIETNAM VET AND I GET TREATED LIKE A DOG !! INCOMPETENT DOCTORS, MALPRACTICE AND MEDICAL NEGLECT. THAT DOESN’T SOUND THE CARE WE WERE PROMISED AND “EARNED” DUE TO OUR MILITARY SERVICE IN A COMBAT ZONE, DOES IT?? GET INFORMED AND DEMAND YOUR US REPRESENTATIVES INSURE THAT THE VA PROVIDES APPROPRIATE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL VETERANS AND QUIT KILLING OFF SO MANY UNDER THE GUISE OF SOME MEDICAL CONDITION, AND; THEY KNOW IT IS ALL LIES. . …….. THE VA LIES & VETERANS DIE !!!

It is an Army COMMENDATION Medal! A “V” clasp is added for valor if issued for certain acts of heroism.

Good catch, Gerald. Got it right in the Facebook post, not sure how I slipped up here. Thanks for pointing it out.

I tried to post the TRUTH about the VA, but, they wouldn’t post it because it said that I didn’t provide my full name and email address) which I absolutely DID. The VA prefers to lie and hear lies. VA LIES AND VETS DIE.

An “Army Accommodation Medal”? Seriously? Is that similar to a Navy and Marine Corps Accommodation Medal?

Good catch! Thanks for the edit. I made the update.
