Diabetes is one of the most prevalent conditions in our Veteran population, affecting the lives of millions of patients and their families every day. In fact, nearly 25% of the Veterans we treat have the disease, and over 70% are at risk due to weight concerns. These are among the many reasons why American Diabetes Month in November is so important, as it raises awareness of a growing epidemic – one that our team is helping to address with a program we call “MOVE!”.

MOVE! is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive weight management program associated with a medical care system. With this service, our patient care teams help Veterans develop individualized plans aimed at losing or maintaining weight through diet, increased physical activity and behavior change approaches. To deliver such support, it takes an interdisciplinary team of talented professionals, including Endocrinologists and Dietitians. Together, we’re helping to prevent and reverse diabetes in people who have proudly served America.

A career with VA is a great way for you to give back to Veterans while moving forward both professionally and personally. Because in addition to a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, you’ll enjoy true work-life balance plus countless opportunities for advancement.

If this sounds like your kind of career, explore our Endocrinologist and Dietitian positions and the many other roles we have available.
