Our VA Executives are essential to continuous advancement in Veterans’ care, as they inspire innovation at every level and help maximize the potential and growth of our employees. It’s the kind of work that’s enhancing the patient experience for people who have proudly served America. And it is with great pride that we introduce some of the outstanding leaders making it happen.

Robert A. McDonald, Secretary of Veterans Affairs

Secretary McDonald is an Army Veteran who’s led several transformational initiatives since joining VA. This includes expanding access to our services and reducing the disability claims backlog. He’s also driving progress towards an effective end to Veteran homelessness through proven prevention and treatment programs, vital networks and partnerships, and various other methods. It’s all part of his vision to improve the lives of his fellow Veterans.

Sloan D. Gibson, Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs

Serving as our Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Gibson oversees our nationwide system of healthcare services and benefits programs for Veterans and their dependents. As a former member of the Army, he uses his unique understanding of our patients to take their care to the next level.

Robert D. Snyder, Chief of Staff of Veterans Affairs

Mr. Snyder joined VA after a 26-year Army career, and he now serves as our Chief of Staff. In this role, he’s responsible for the federal government’s second largest Cabinet department, with over 300,000 employees throughout the nation. Among his many accomplishments is leading the MyVA initiative – the largest transformation in our organization’s history – which focuses on enhancing the patient and employee experiences.
