#VeteranOfTheDay Marine Veteran Kayda Keleher

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Veteran Kayda Keleher.

Kayda served in the Marine Corps as a 4341 Combat Correspondent. She enlisted in 2007 and served a deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2011.

In Afghanistan, she spent most of her time covering the Female Engagement Teams in Sangin and Marjah, as she was the only female correspondent in Helmand Providence.

She was awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal for her efforts during that deployment.

Kayda transitioned out in 2012. She is using her G.I. Bill benefits to pursue a degree at American University. She is also serving as a Legislative Associate at the VFW’s National Legislative Services office focusing on women’s issues, mental health, employment, education, and homelessness.

Thank you for your service, Kayda!
