Patient Safety Awareness Week is a designated time to increase awareness about patient safety and well-being among health care professionals and the public. We’re acknowledging this year’s Awareness Week from March 12-18th, 2017. The National Patient Safety Foundation has been advocating for patient safety since 1997 through collaborating with patients, their families and the health care community. VA supports the NPSF effort to engage health care professionals in creating a world where patients are free from harm.
There are several interactive ways health care professionals can get involved and raise awareness:
- Wear a patient gown
- Join the United for Patient Safety Campaign
- Take the Pledge
- Speak up on social media
- Join the discussion
