VA Secretary Dr. David J. Shulkin, Interim Deputy Secretary Scott R. Blackburn and Chief of Staff Vivieca Wright-Simpson greeted and personally thanked VA employees for their service at VA’s Central Office Monday morning to kick off the 2017 Public Service Recognition Week.

The week-long, annual celebration takes place the first full week of May to honor the women and men around the country who serve in the federal, state and local government. This year’s recognition week takes place from May 7 to 13.

At VA, Public Service Recognition Week is an opportunity to celebrate and honor the organization’s valued public servants in appreciation of their contributions to the department and to our nation’s Veterans.

Recognition, however, isn’t just from those inside VA. One way you can recognize exceptional VA employees for their service is by presenting them with I CARE Recognition Certificates.
