Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Corps Veteran Carl Hauprich.
Carl served with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines as an Infantry Rifleman during Operation Desert Storm. For his service, he was awarded the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
After leaving the military, Carl earned a degree in professional aeronautics and a pilot’s license. He has used his skills and joy for flying to help other Veterans through his involvement with Veterans Airlift Command, a non-profit organization that coordinates private flights for disabled Veterans. His volunteer work has given him deep satisfaction each time he completes a flight.
Carl and the men in his original unit have maintained close ties throughout the years and frequently have reunions.
Thank you for your service, Carl!
