#VeteranOfTheDay Army Veteran David Major

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is David Major.

Dave served from 1987 to 2008 in the Army.

He served with 1st BN, 34th Armor, 1st Infantry Division “Big Red One” during Operation Desert Shield in 1991.

After retirement from the military, Dave moved back home to Arkansas with his wife and two daughters. He spends his free time hiking in the Ozark Mountains. He was also inducted into the Arkansas Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame, Class of 2015.

Thank you for your service, Dave!

Do you want to light up the face of a special Veteran? Have you been wondering how to tell your Veteran they are special to you? You’re in luck! VA’s #VeteranOfTheDay social media feature is an opportunity to highlight your Veteran and his/her service.

It’s easy to nominate a Veteran. All it takes is an email to newmedia@va.gov with as much of the information as you can put together with some good photos. Visit our blog post about nominating for how to create the best submission.
