The 31st annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games wrapped up in Pittsburgh this past weekend. Over 600 athletes from 46 states made their mark on the Steel City—competing in 17 events that challenged their strength and endurance.

Some of the most accomplished wheelchair athletes in the world competed in events like motorized wheelchair relay, weightlifting, handcycling, air rifles, quad rugby, softball, swimming, and archery. The Games not only provided an arena for Vets to showcase their skills but to connect with one another, building camaraderie and support for one another throughout the week.

Check out the video above that captures the spirit and tenacity of these Veteran athletes. We salute those who participated in the Games!

I have never been more inspired and touched by greatness than spending the week with our Paralyzed Veteran Athletes!

We need to get them more visibility so others can be transformed by these American Heros who compete and become Legends.

Thank you for your service and for showing others that if you focus on what you can do, you can do anything!
