Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a nonprofit organization that lifts up Veterans across the country by providing opportunities, resources and services to those in need. DAV Chapter 16 in Prescott, Arizona, is special to those in its community.

Chapter 16 has helped Veterans in need since it was founded in 1950, enhancing the lives of area Veterans. The volunteer group has found numerous ways to do so, including a thrift store, resource center, housing, Veterans’ court, mentor coordinators and services for the children of fallen service members.

Each endeavor, such as the thrift store, employs Veterans and the profits generated from these businesses go directly toward helping Veterans who may require clothing, furniture, household items or transportation. Chapter 16 also works with VA’s Northern Arizona Health Care System by providing recreational programs for Veterans who are staying at the facility.
