Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran James Allen McNeil. James served during World War II.

James was born in Lumberton, Mississippi. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a ground crew chief for the B24 Liberator, Miss Fire.

Following the war, James became an automobile mechanic and eventually owned his own automotive business. In 1984, James began volunteering at the G.V. Montgomery VA Medical Center. He volunteered a total of 9,708 hours as a member in the Chaplain Service and as a representative and deputy representative for the VA Voluntary Service Committee.

James passed away at the age of 100 in February 2018 in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

We honor his service.
