Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran William “Bill” Frobe. Bill served from 1991 to 2016.

After completing basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Bill went to Heidelberg, Germany where he served as a personnel clerk. In 1994, he was reassigned to Fort Myer, Virginia as the company clerk for the Headquarters Company, United States Army and was selected to be the administrative assistant to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army in 1995.

Bill pursued the Green to Gold scholarship in 1996 and attained commission as second lieutenant at the University of Arizona upon graduating. Bill later served in Seoul, South Korea in the 516th Personnel Services Battalion followed by work with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Irwin, California and Mosul, Iraq. In 2006, he was selected for assignments as the executive officer for the Cleveland Military Entrance Processing Station in Ohio.

Bill was awarded the Advanced Civilian Schooling Scholarship for the University of Colorado at Boulder in August 2013. He was then assigned as the executive officer to the Chief Information Officer/G6 for the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence in Arizona. Bill retired from the Army in 2016. He was awarded several medals including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, among others. Bill is now the knowledge manager for an Army unit at Fort Meade, Maryland.
