You've asked questions, we've got answers.

The “You Asked, We Answered” series addresses COVID-19 questions that matter to Veterans and those they care about.

You have questions.

“I already had COVID-19. Do I still need the vaccine?”

“Once I’m vaccinated, how soon will I be protected?”

“Is the vaccine safe?”

“What about the Delta variant?”

We’ve received many questions from Veterans, family members and caregivers about COVID-19 vaccines.

Some people are concerned that they may be allergic to the vaccine or may suffer from side effects. Others are cancer survivors, or currently are being treated for cancer, and wonder if they can get vaccinated safely. Some are pregnant and wonder how receiving the vaccine will affect themselves and their unborn child.

Some are simply uncertain about receiving the vaccine and whether it’s right for them.

Why weren’t our vaccinations reported to the state so we could register for their electronic verification system?

Would I be able to receive the Novavax Vaccine, it seems to be of a higher quality than the other vaccines? In addition, it would probably be less expensive than the other vaccines.

Will we be able to get a booster shot upon request this fall? Would it need to be the same source as our original shots?
