With the arrival of the fall season, VA recruiters are getting ready to attend several professional conferences and events as they search for the next great members of the team.

Whether in-person or virtual, our recruiters are looking forward to seeing you again at these upcoming conferences and meetings.

  1. The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) will hold its annual meeting Oct. 8-12, 2021, in San Diego, California. We’ll be on-hand to offer insight into available anesthesiology jobs and answer any questions you may have about a career with VA. There is also a virtual track if you cannot attend in-person.
  2. The American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) will hold its annual Scientific Meeting and Postgraduate Course Oct. 22-27, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada. ACG is planning to host a hybrid event, and our recruiters will be available to discuss gastroenterology career opportunities at VA with attendees.
  3. The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) will hold its annual Scientific Assembly Oct. 25-28, 2021, in Boston, Massachusetts. While the meeting offers an array of seminars aimed at emergency medicine providers, participants can also speak with VA recruiters during the event. ACEP will also offer an at-home attendance option for those who don’t wish to travel.
  4. Now entering its 34th year, Psych Congress returns Oct. 29-Nov. 11, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. Psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, primary care physicians, and other mental health professionals will be able to learn all about the benefits of working in mental health at VA.

With all these events, fall is shaping up to be a busy season for our VA recruiters. But if you are unable to attend any of the above events, don’t forget you can always visit our website and reach out virtually to our recruiting team with any questions.

A lot to offer

No matter where you find us, VA has a lot to offer our employees. In fact, we’re one of the top large employers in the nation.

Our mission — serving those who have served our country — means a lot to our team, but we offer a range of benefits to make your career even better.

Just as we offer exceptional health care to our Veterans, we offer extensive insurance options for our employees. You can choose from a variety of health maintenance organizations or fee-for-service health plans, and all cover preexisting conditions.

If you’re looking toward the future, you can also take advantage of our retirement packages. VA employees have access to the Thrift Savings Plan, which allows employees to tax-defer a portion of their income each year. The government automatically contributes 1% of your salary, with additional matching contributions up to a total of 5%.

Additionally, we offer flexible schedules. Our employees receive 13 to 26 paid vacation/personal days, as well as 13 sick days annually with no limit on accumulation, and we celebrate 11 paid federal holidays each year.

Work at VA

We hope to hear from you — whether in-person at one of the events above or virtually. It’s time to learn more about a VA career.

NOTE: As of the publication date, we intend to attend all meetings in-person. Due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is subject to change.
