This entry serves as a follow-up to the previous entry, which focused on questions regarding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. In the seven months since that entry was published, our experience with and understanding of COVID-19 and vaccines, has increased, and we have new information to share.

Can I get a COVID-19 vaccine if I’m pregnant or have recently been?

Yes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) strongly recommends COVID-19 vaccination before, during or after pregnancy. Pregnant or recently pregnant people are at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

Additionally, pregnant people with COVID-19 have a higher risk of delivering prematurely. They also may have a higher risk of other negative pregnancy outcomes. According to the CDC, the benefits of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine outweigh the known and potential risks for pregnant people.

Can I get a COVID-19 vaccine if I am currently breastfeeding?

Yes. In addition to protecting the breastfeeding person who receives the COVID-19 vaccine, doing so may also protect the baby.

COVID-19 vaccines cannot cause infection in anyone, but breastfeeding people who received mRNA vaccines such as the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines have been found to possess protective antibodies in their breast milk. These antibodies may help protect babies against COVID-19.

Can I get a COVID-19 vaccine if I plan to conceive in the future?

Yes. There is no evidence that COVID-19 vaccines will affect one’s ability to conceive.

Experts such as those at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommend that people planning to become pregnant should “feel confident” that choosing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will not harm their ability to conceive in the future.

Keep an eye out for more answers to your COVID-19 and vaccine questions and remember to follow good health habits in the meantime. To keep it simple, follow the three W’s: wear your masks, wash your hands, and watch your distance from others!

FOR ALL OF YOU WHO REPLIED:

As “Allen,” above, I made two long comments in this thread, about the inconsistency and unverified data on Covid, and noted natural immunity is best, while the push for mandates is about profit, not the long-term health of the American public.

As an ex-Army Airborne Ft.Benning trained infantry squad leader, you would think the Veterans Administration would have my back, would support the ongoing science (as it unfolds), and would consider open conjecture as a criterion for thinking through the serious Covid dilemma, with truthful facts.

But no…! The Veteran’s Administration editors here, CENSORED me completely because I conjectured whether pregnant women should or should not receive the vaccine. I served America because I always believed in America. To censor a veteran’s opinion, because you disagree, is not the America I grew up in. The VA was ALWAYS here to help – but it seems today, the VA is here to restrict you, silence you, and minimize your service.

I all but guarantee, the VA editors here, didn’t serve a day in the military.

    Pregnant people?

    Oh please spare us!
    “Pregnant or recently pregnant people . . . “ -&- “ . . . the breastfeeding person . . . “ Who?

The VA and the CDC have apparently gone fully WOKE and sidestepped reality and nature. Future, current or past pregnancies and breastfeedings are only experienced by one gender of humans: The Female, aka the ‘Woman.’ Neither description is found anywhere in the article, incidentally posted at the VAntage Point News Sections: ‘Coronavirus, Health, WOMEN Veterans.’ When such deliberately spun, faddish wording is used, it reeks of manipulation by ‘people or persons’ of any gender pushing an agenda, thus diminishing the real science, nature’s order, and the credibility of the underlying message — if it ever had any. And the government and vaccine proponents wonder why so many PEOPLE remain suspicious, fearful, and unvaccinated?

Good, reasonable, and honest comment…the FBI is probably headed to our houses now. God bless.

There is no evidence the CDC gives a sht about anything other than a political agenda. There is absolutely no way that there is enough data or enough time has passed for the CDC to even make that claim, so one must ask themselves, why are they pushing it so hard? If they said they said they had no idea about long term effects but still recommended it due to believing the short term benefits outweighed possible long term effects it might at least appear honest. Would still be bullsht but at least it might have the effect of looking like they were trying to be honest.
