Attending live events, such as concerts, sports, performing arts and family themed events is how many of us relax with entertainment. These experiences are especially significant to Veterans and those who serve our country in uniform. Quite often, our Veterans and service members have missed out on various life events, such as birthdays, anniversaries and holidays with family and friends. Those are experiences that we can’t get back, however we quite often commit to making up for it when we’re back with our loved ones.

“This was my families’ first time at an event for Vettix. It was a great experience. We all loved it. I felt honored as a Veteran to be at this event,” Army Veteran Tierra J.

Vet Tix is open to Veterans of all eras

Vet Tix is a national nonprofit organization that provides free event tickets to give something to those who gave. Vet Tix supports Veterans and service members by honoring their service and providing positive family and life experiences during and after their years of service to our country, delivering experiences to last a lifetime. Becoming a member is free; to join, one just has to be a Veteran (all eras), a member of the military, or the immediate family member of a service member who was killed in the line of duty.

The cost of attending live entertainment events can range anywhere from over $200- $500 for a family or four, making these All-American events far too expensive for many of the families to attend.

Vet Tix receives donated tickets from professional and collegiate sports teams, concert and performing arts venues, artists/performers, private donors who aren’t going to use their tickets, entertainment promoters from motor sports, rodeos, festivals and more. It receives tickets to many major concert tours, performing arts such as Hamilton, and even major sporting events such as the NFL Super Bowl.

Giving something to those who gave

Created in 2008 by U.S. Navy Veteran Michael Focareto III, Vet Tix has distributed over 16 million tickets to over 200,000 events throughout the United States. “Vet Tix is able to continue to achieve our mission of ‘giving something to those who gave,’ due of the generosity of or amazing donors. We’re grateful for their continued support,” Focareto said.

“I loved seeing Hamilton at The Pantages theater! The performance was outstanding, with amazing seats. It’s been very gratifying to be a member of Vet Tix,” said an Army Veteran.

The ticket to the rest of your life

Vet Tix has received over one million testimonials from its members, referred to as VetTixers who share their experiences by thanking the over 30,000 donors for creating lifelong memories. Quite often, they’ve shared their stories of success in addressing personal challenges through attending events provided by Vet Tix. “People don’t realize that this is truly more than a ticket to an event, it’s a ticket to the rest of our life,” said Adrienne, a U.S. Army Veteran.

It all depends on who donates the tix. If you live in a area where say none of your local teams donate and private people are not giving. Or you don’t have a lot of events then not gonna be vet tix for them.
I am lucky and live in a state where I can go to 6 major cities within 3 hrs. I literally could go to a vet tix event 2 times a week. 4 and 5 nights sometimes in the summer. Now with basketball and volleyball season and holidays it’s slowed down a little. Can’t wait for next month when bowl game tickets come out. I know VT is working them phones trying to get us tix.

Fantastic Opportunities! I’ve used them multiple times…. I got 4, 5th row seats to see The Black Keys at Rocket Mortgage Field House right before COVID. I’ve used them to get tickets to the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Avett Brothers, Ray Lamontagne, and other events. You might incur a small processing fee, but I’ve never spend more than $15 total!

  4. J.T. November 5, 2021 at 09:06

Very legit…I just got 4 tickets last week to the Mavericks/Spurs game. Also got tickets a few years ago to the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium (Ohio State vs USC).
You have to be quick on the draw though and monitor emails, as tickets to highly sought after events go pretty fast.

Can someone explain this to me? Looking at their 990, in 2019 they brought in around $9 million in cash. But their salaries are around $3 million. So that would mean the real percentage going to the program is around 66%.

    • Michael Anthony November 5, 2021 at 09:36

earned vs donated cash, donated tickets vs purchased tickets, tickets in value – vs tickets out value, and overall revenue (all) vs expenses (all including fees to speak to systems) give you the real percentage. They are audited and those financials are used to create the 990… and they don’t hoard money. they buy tickets and give them away for a delivery fee. Look at assets and liabilities… cherry-picking a 990 is easy to do… when the experts rate them and user experience mirrors that… then?

      • Mike November 5, 2021 at 11:03

Doesn’t matter. I understand in-kind donations count for the overall “income”. But when you have $9 million in cash coming in and almost a third if that is soent on salaries, that is a huge red flag. Similar to part of the issues with wounded warrior project. The reality is that only about 66% of cash donations are going to the program. it also looks like the founder is making close to $300k when he used to make $60k. And several others are making $250k. Looks like this has become their own oersonal piggy bank.

        • Michael Anthony November 5, 2021 at 13:04

Wrong… WWP was hoarding cash and not putting it toward their programs(huge problem)… they had over $140M in the bank. Vet Tix has grown fast (harder to manage and stay true to mission) and you are trying to state that a charity can’t classify some salaries as part of program expenses while others are considered admin expenses… which is false. It should be broken down on the 990 that you are cherry-picking. Not sure what their revenue is…. but, has to be substantial with the amount of in-kind running through there.

          • Mike November 5, 2021 at 14:39

Michael Anthony do you work for Vettix? You seem hell bent on defending them like you know their financials. Then say you don’t know what they are.

Bottom line is that more than 66% of cash income should be going to the program. And at least 4 people are making $250k+. COMPLETELY unsatisfactory for a military related charity!

          • Mike November 6, 2021 at 09:34

Looks like 4 people are being paid $250k or more. Looks like the CEO went from around $60k annually to almost $300k.

Again, 66% of cash going to the program is unacceptable!

            • Michael Anthony November 8, 2021 at 10:06

Nope, I like their mission and I’m thankful for them and their donors… Seen some stuff I never would have attended…

I like that I pay for what I get… and not some BS membership org…

I will continue to watch their financials (on GuideStar) and if see anything of concern… I will chirp about it.

          • Tom November 7, 2021 at 12:26

Read the tea leaves!!! Vet Tix founders have tasted greed in the name of charity. Vet Tix has an excellent mission and service for veterans, but like many charities money changes good people.

Not a scam. I repeat not a scam. I’ve used their service multiple times. Nothing greasy service. Are some seats in the nose bleeds, yup but not all and it’s $14.97 for any event. If your to complain, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Thank you all for your service. Enjoy Veterans Day.

  8. Diego Molinares November 4, 2021 at 15:22

Not a scam at all. My family and I have been to Taylor Swift and Ed Sheehan concerts, excellent seats.

    • Martin November 4, 2021 at 20:54

Any vaccine restrictions? I refuse to be apart of ostracizing people who want to exercise their constitutional rights. As a veteran, I’M NOT DOWN WITH THAT.

  9. Thomas Baker November 4, 2021 at 15:18

Have signed up but have never gotten any notifications about available tickets.

  10. Ann McGillicuddy November 4, 2021 at 15:11

My daughter served in the Army Reserves. Is she eligible to utilize this too?

  11. Michael Anthony November 4, 2021 at 14:44

I’ve gone to a few events… over 10.7 million tickets have been given away and I have seen my testimonials are part of the over 660,000 shown on their site. Heck, they have been around for over 13 years… They just gave away tickets to the World Series (testimonial entered) as seen on their Facebook page. Those who say it’s a scam are 100% wrong and part of the fake news crowd… and or completely technology challenged and need help completing anything successfully.

Since I am already a retired disable veteran who is already register with IDme and with the VA healthcare system, why do I still need to provide all of PII ??

With so much identity thief, this has already happened to me twice, I am very hesitant to expose myself further. Am sure at least one if not both of the these validation point should be adequate to verify my status.

    Look forward to your response.

  13. Frank M Gaydos November 4, 2021 at 10:27

I just returned from a free Flyers hockey game. The seats were on the ground floor, below two upper floors.
In other words , decent seats.
Prior to the Covid lockdown I also had great seats at the Philadelphia Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra.
    I have no complaints.

  14. Brian Dodds November 4, 2021 at 10:14

Im having a hard time understanding why people that served in the military have the most trouble using VetTix. The site is easy to use. My family has enjoyed numerous concerts and sporting events all over the country for a miniscule amount of what tickets would cost at the event. Thank you Vet Tix!

  15. Steve Gordon November 4, 2021 at 09:30

I used vet tix once and was happy with the experience. However there seem to be limited events locally.

  16. James Tuck November 4, 2021 at 07:16

I too had trouble signing up the sign-up process is to difficult. I would have liked that I am wheelchair-bound and 100% disabled this sounded like an opportunity to bad

  17. Ryan November 4, 2021 at 00:45

Vet tix is a scam, I’ve tried to contact them many times over the years.

    • Chris November 4, 2021 at 13:23

I agree and there are so many spam emails sent out.

  18. Robert November 4, 2021 at 00:42

Vettixs is pretty cool. However, for a 501c3 that seeks donations they have absolutely zero ability to resolve issues and that’s what prevents me from donating financially to the organization.

  19. Merrilee Lucas November 3, 2021 at 22:20

Yes I’m a veteran with back and knee problems. I got tickets to a concert and they were two down from the very top row,(the nose bleed section). If I knew my seat I would’ve skipped the concert.

  20. Jose L. Parrilla November 3, 2021 at 22:20

I’m interested, thank for the opportunity, GB

  21. Mitch November 3, 2021 at 20:52

Why is it so hard to

  22. Larry Larson November 3, 2021 at 20:02

“These experiences are especially significant to Veterans and those who serve our country in uniform. ”

What a crock of shit. Just another organization looking to milk society in general and be patted on the back over and over. If you’re still alive, get over it and be strong enough to enjoy your life for what it has been and is.

(And yeah, we’re about as military a family as you’ll find anywhere, on both sides, for several generations. And yeah, I volunteered to be reassigned from Germany to ‘Nam in ’68…)

    • John R. November 4, 2021 at 10:10

  23. Lawrence Wilson November 3, 2021 at 19:44

Scam – Scam – I already have an ID account but they are still asking for my SSN and birthdate, Scam to collect personal information.

  24. Barbara Driscoll November 3, 2021 at 18:40

We love VET TIX it is a wonderful way to enjoy date night with family and friends! We have also been introduced to many events we might not have known about! I have also had the privilege of introducing Vet TIX to other Veterans! Love you guys!

  25. Tom Stair November 1, 2021 at 01:20

I would like to use your service, but your sign up and verification process is so convoluted I never can get through the whole process!!! I have a USAA account, my healthy vet account, but can’t get through all your hoops, so I guess I’ll just skip it!!

    • PAUL KENNY November 3, 2021 at 18:55

This is a life changing service for me. I have been struggling lately with various health issues. Vet Tix has gotten me out of the house and seen some really awesome things. Just this year I went to MMA, comedy club, pro soccer, football, NASCAR, college basketball, Brooks and Dunn and a couple more. Looking forward to the Monster Truck world finals I am in lottery waiting.
I purchased my wife and Vet Tix gear to wear and it’s actually really cool. I was wearing my VT shirt and a lady came up and thanked me for my service in airport out of no where. I was like how in hell did she know and my wife looks at me with well you know that wife look ans says hon you have your ticket shirt on. Tickets shirt lmao.
Anyway the price rocks. The seats rock. Vet Tix is bringing so much more joy into my life each event we attend.
        I want to especially thank

        Michael Focareto III

I know it could not have been easy getting this thing going but man what you have done is nothing short of miraculous.
Think back to that 1st donation I bet you never envisioned 600k to date and probably growing leaps and bounds daily.
Keep up the great work cause I for one plan on using VT for many years to come

    • Jeff Axton November 3, 2021 at 20:07

Usually like 14.95 no matter the amount of tickets.

    • Jessica November 3, 2021 at 21:35

      Usually $15 to Ticketmaster

      • Brian Carley November 4, 2021 at 18:01

money doesn’t go to ticket master, goes to non-profit vettix

    • Robert November 4, 2021 at 00:40

It’s never been more than $15.00 for up to four tickets.
