Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Rene J. Defourneaux, who served as a counterintelligence operative during World War II and the Korean War.
On the CIA’s birthday, today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Rafael D. Hirtz, who served during in the Office of Strategic Services during World War II.
The CIA, the broader Intelligence Community, and the American people benefit tremendously from the insight and impact of Veterans who bring to their work a wealth of experience and knowledge.
The Department of Defense and VA naturally share a relationship as military members transition to Veteran status. But for one group of Veterans, that relationship included the CIA and National Park Service. The Office of Strategic Services, or OSS, brings together these federal groups, as visitors learned Nov. 2 during the Prince William Forest OSS Day.
