VA job fairs play a pivotal role in the future of military Veterans. Although “National Hire a Veteran Day” is only observed July 25, the department’s goal is to provide training resources and employment opportunities throughout the entire year to Veterans transitioning from military life.  

Veteran Orientation Express is a web-based tool and series of videos that are designed to increase understanding of the VR&E program.

October is particularly meaningful for VA’s Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service: it's a time to bring extra attention to National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and Spina Bifida Awareness Month.

VA's Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service is deploying its electronic Virtual Assistant (e-VA) to the national stage. e-VA is an artificial intelligence platform, providing modern, streamlined and responsive customer service support to VR&E's Veterans. Importantly, it automates routine administrative activities for VR&E Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRC) and staff.

Today, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) celebrates its 30th anniversary. The ADA’s purpose is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. In conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), the Veterans Benefits Administration’s (VBA) Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service is proud to recognize their yearlong celebration with the theme of "Increasing Access and Opportunity."

One of VA's oldest benefits – Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E) – is now the Veteran Readiness and Employment Service. The service office will remain abbreviated VR&E, but the new name reemphasizes VBA's mission to encourage, promote and support transitioning and service-connected disabled Veterans’ employment goals.

e-VA is an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant which allows service members and Veterans to schedule and reschedule VR&E appointments, text and email their VR&E counselor, and submit documentation.
